June 25, 2024: Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI or GTA 6) is one of the most awaited games in the world. Fans have been waiting eagerly for news about this game. Now, we have some confirmed details about GTA 6, which is set to release in 2025. Rockstar Games, the company behind the game, had to release the first trailer quickly after it was leaked. Here are 11 confirmed facts about GTA 6:
1. GTA 6 Location
GTA 6 is an open-world game set in a place called Leonida, which includes Vice City. Fans of the series will remember Vice City from earlier games. It is inspired by Miami, Florida. Rockstar Games describes Leonida as “home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond”.
2. GTA 6 Protagonists
There are two main characters in GTA 6. One is a woman named Lucia, and the other is an unnamed male character. Some earlier leaks called him Jason, but Rockstar Games has not confirmed his name yet. In the first trailer, we see Lucia wearing an orange prison uniform.
3. Lucia Has a Corrections Counsellor
In the first trailer, we see Lucia talking to her corrections counsellor. The counsellor asks, “Lucia, do you know why you are here?” Lucia replies, “Bad luck, I guess”. This suggests that the counsellor will be an important supporting character in the game.
4. Partners in Crime Who Could Be Lovers
The two main characters, Lucia and the unnamed male, will work together in the game. The trailer suggests that they enjoy breaking the law. There is a focus on the word “trust”, hinting that their relationship might be complex. It also seems like they could be in a romantic relationship.
5. GTA 6 Vehicles
GTA 6 will have many different vehicles. From the trailer, we can expect to see biplanes, seaplanes, speed boats, cargo ships, yachts, bikes, amphibious choppers, trucks, quad bikes, vans, and many cars. This wide range of vehicles will give players many ways to explore the game world.
6. In-Game Social Media Platform
The trailer shows a social media platform similar to Instagram or TikTok. There are posts with emojis and hashtags. We do not know yet how players will use this in-game social media, but it looks like it will be an interesting feature.
7. Two Factions Confirmed
GTA 6 will have two factions: the Thrillbilly Mud Club and High Rollerz Lifestyle. The trailer also mentions a dirt bike gang, but we do not know its name yet. These factions will likely play a big role in the game’s story and missions.
8. Song in the Trailer
The first trailer features the song “Love Is a Long Road” by Tom Petty. Tom Petty was an American singer and songwriter from Florida, which fits well with the game’s setting. The song is from Petty’s solo album “Full Moon Fever”.
9. GTA 6 Launch Date
GTA 6 is set to release in ‘Fall 2025’. This is a good time for the game to come out as it is close to the holiday season. However, Rockstar Games has not given an exact date yet.
10. GTA 6 Platforms
At first, GTA 6 will be available only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is a chance that it might come to PS4, Xbox One, and PC later, but this is not confirmed.
