Chandrayaan-3 is the Third lunar Exploration mission undertaken by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)

It is a follow-up mission to the Chandrayaan-2 mission,which was launched in July2019

Chandrayaan-3 is to land a rover on the lunar surface and conduct scientific experiments to further our understanding of the Moon's geology, mineralogy, and its evolution

Similar to Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3 will carry a lunar rover to the Moon's surface.

The rover will be equipped with advanced scientific instruments to analyze the lunar soil and gather valuable data.

Chandrayaan-3 is planned to be launched using the GSLV Mk III,which is a powerful and reliable launch vehicle developed by ISRO

The GSLV Mk III has successfully launched previous Indian space missions,including Chandrayaan-2,and has the necessary capability to carry the lunar orbiter,lander,and rover to the Moon.

ISRO has expressed interest in collaborating with other countries and space agencies for the Chandrayaan-3 mission The estimated cost of the mission is around Rs.600 crore (approximately 80 million USD)

The Vikram lander,which carried the Pragyan rover,had a hard landing and lost communication shortly before touchdown
