The Role of a Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality Assurance:

As a Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality Assurance, your primary responsibility will be to establish a plan for the deployment and execution of a comprehensive quality control (QC) system.

This system will encompass various inspection procedures such as scheduled inspection, strip inspection, TGW inspection, layout inspection, and functional testing.

By closely monitoring the execution of this QC system, you will contribute to reducing internal customer complaints, thus enhancing overall customer satisfaction.

To excel in this role, you should understand manufacturing processes, including casting, forging, machining, and gears. Additionally, you should have extensive knowledge of quality systems to ensure adherence to the highest quality standards.

As a vital member of the team, you will be expected to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and effectively communicate with stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities of a Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality Assurance

  • Implementing M2 action and M3 action for sporadic supplier part PPFRs through joint supplier analysis.
  • Developing and executing a retention audit plan for supplier parts.
  • Creating and executing a reduction plan for vehicle rework caused by supplier parts, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Mitigating the probability of defects reaching internal and external customers by implementing AND gates at the supplier’s end.
  • Participating in reviews to address internal customer problems and find effective solutions.
  • Reviewing Minutes of Meetings (MOM) with suppliers to ensure closure of planned actions within the defined timeframe and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Completing identified line-stopper projects and identified Engineering ReWork (ERW) projects.
  • Ensuring timely closure of Automotive Quality Index (AQI) and Final Quality Index (FQI) non-conformities related to engine rework caused by supplier parts.

Educational Qualifications Preferred:

To be eligible for the position of Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality Assurance at TVS Motor Company, the preferred educational qualification is a Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech). Candidates with a degree in engineering and relevant experience will be given preference.
